Default Choking engine

Hello everyone

i was started my S2000 today after the car was parked 5 hours and i let the engine warm up for a 1 minute (usually let the car warm up five minutes) and when i drove the car i tried rev the engine to 8000 RPM and the car didnt let me pass the 6500 or 7000 RPM, the engine was like in rev limit or choking. so after a minute or two i reved the engine again and it was fine, the car rev till the 8000 RPM.
I try to know if there are any problems or did not give the car enough time to warm up
i have an 07 AP2 with 16000 miles

thanks for helping

Protection system for the engine.. unless you have 3 bars (warm meter) it wont let u go pass 7k RPM mines stops at 3k with 1 bar... 7k with 2 after 3 it revs till 9-10k

I think this question is posted at least a few times a week and the thought of people revving their engine that high on cold oil makes me cringe every time. Why would you try to rev over 6k rpms on an engine that has only been warming up for one minute anyway?

It's much cheaper to wash a car than rebuild an engine
