I'd reset the code and see if it stays gone. If it comes back. I'd unplug and re-plug the map back in again. I'd think if the map was messed up right now, it'd run like crap. You don't mention if they reset it and it came back.

When you were cleaning, did you disconnect any of these wires?

Codes don't mean a part is bad. All they mean is the ECU saw a reading out of range. If you had disconnect the map while the car was running, you could easily have set this code.

As for the DTC list, a single line LED display with scroll could simply scroll the current codes and description at the press of a button. Could even do it with the 2 digit speed display. I don't even really need a description, simply "P0108" for instance.

I can't remember if I left the MAP sensor wires disconnected when I did the cleaning or not. Good thought on the ECU seeing the sensor with an out of range voltage reading.

Now that I know the code, I think your suggestion is the next step, to reset it and see if it comes back and if it does, unplug and re plug the map then see what happens.

Thanks for the info.

Try cleaning your contacts on the map its self as well.

Considering all you did was spray cleaner into the TB you probalby just disrupted the A/F ratio casuing the high reading.

MAP = Manifold Absolute Pressure.
It "translates" mainfold pressure into an electronic signal for the ECU to use.
I don't know if high pressure is also higher volatge, could be the other way around too, that would be no problem for an ECU, its just a signal.

Scroll down the list and you will see there is also a P1128-P1129
"Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Signal Lower / Higher Than Expected"

Thats something Ek9 described, a temporary fault.
Not a P0108.
IMO.

But then again, Ek9 allready knew that, from his 2 digit display, right?

(just messing with ya.. )

When you disconnect something electronic like that, the lines tends to float "high" so, I read that as "disconnected" and the ECU was reading an out of range voltage.

I should try disconnecting my map and see if I can set that code.

I ruined my MAP by getting cleaner into it. This is most likely what you did if your code comes back. Mine was drastically off on it's readings and was running the car super rich so it was obvious something was wrong. Even if your car runs ok you should have a tech check its output voltage to make sure. It may just be running your car slightly lean or rich. Either of which isn't a huge deal but it could be costing you hp, fuel mileage or a burned up piston under extreme conditions.
