the differential perhaps?

clicking can be evident if:
- tire pressures are uneven
- fluid needs to be changed out (well, okay, its just a SWAG)
- diff blown
- other (unknown)

I have yet to hear an S that doesn't "click" when performing a lock-to-lock U-Turn......and I've driven several. I'm pretty sure it is the diff (LSD) but I don't know of anyone who has positively isolated the sound.

To check diff, jack up rear (both sides), put in gear, release hand brake and turn each rear wheel both ways. Should be smooth on all four operations with the other wheel spinning the opposite direction. If you feel any Cap'n Crunch (w/ or w/o Crunch Berries) that's most likely your "something".

something like that happened to me. i was driving to school when i heard my car go over something and then this clicking noise started to come almost immediately. when driving slow, it was less frequent, when driving faster it came with more frequency. i took it to honda and what they found was that i had run over a big bolt, not a nail mind you, but a BOLT and the thing was sticking out of the tire and made clicking noises as the top portion hit the pavement. when it rained the noise disappeared for obvious reasons. i had to replace the tire because the hole that it made was so big. luckily i didn't lose any tire pressure. so check that out, that could be it.

you do realize that when doing a steering wheel locked turn, that our diff will NATURALLY make some noise.....

also, clicking noises can be caused by so many different things. and often, the noise is a natural part of a noise the car makes. other times it's not. this is the main reason you see xviper/slows2k/etc avoid threads like these. you can spend hours upon hours looking for a problem that isn't really there. "noise" issues are difficult to diagnose over the internet.
