Default Cluster out, top won't go down

My gauge cluster went out the other day, it's flickering ever so faintly though.
I dont have a RPM, speed, fuel, temp... nothing.
My top won't go down either.

I was doing some reading and i think it's related to the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), has anybody else had this issue?

any help is greatly appreciated
thanks

update:
With the key in the on position and if you turn the lights on you hear a bunch of rapid clicking sounds coming from behind the cluster. Only when the lights are on though and the key is in the acc on position (doesn't do it in the run position). The lights do work though all of them
EXCEPT the rear side led running lights and the front running lights are flickering all dim like at the pace the dash is flickering, only when the lights are off though.

My power steering completely went out today.

I ordered a VSS today and it will be here thursday so hopefully that's it.

I guess it could determine that if the vss is faulting if i did the mod and the top would then work.. hmmmm...
(the top is currently up btw no worries there).
