Default clutch?

hey guy i am new to the s2k world, just bought a used 2004 has 50k miles, i hear the backlash from the gears and the throw out bearing noise in neutral. also feel a little nick when going in to 3rd when i shift below 4500rpm.

i think its time for a new clutch. let me know what you guys think

thanks.

When you say throwout bearing nose, is this with the clutch disengaged in neutral? The "nick" seems to be fairly common on S2K transmissions from what I've read (I've experienced it here/there on my AP1). Doesn't sound like a clutch issue either way. Is it slipping?

Edit: Welcome and congrats on the new s2 as well

Don't shift below 4500, or that "nick" will always be there. take it to 5500, and get it in 3rd gear faster. I guarantee it will go away.

Your noise is likely not clutch related.

no clutch is not slipping. car has a aftermarket driveshaft so ill assume it has a after market clutch. when decelerating i hear the backlash from the tranny, which i had on my wrx which is fairly normal i think. the clutch catches about halfway up.
