Default Clutch Adjustment?

I've had my '00 s2k for about 4 months and recently the tranny has seemed to deteriorate very rapidly. I'll explain what I mean. I always had the second gear/cold transmission problems like everyone else so I changed my mtf with negligble results. Recently it started getting really hard to get it into first from a stop, and second became worse. Now when I try to get it in gear from a stop the tranny makes a bang type noise and the car tries to move forward a bit even with the clutch all the way in. On top of that it's starting to grind in and out of pretty much every gear not just 1st and 2nd. It's almost like the clutch isn't releasing enough from the flywheel and still being partly engaged. I know about the TSB for the '00-'01 clutches but unfortunetly my car is out of warranty and I don't have $1,500 to blow on the 'chance' that it might fix the problem. Is there any adjustment that can be made to help the clutch disengage better? Does that even make any sense? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Ryan

I believe that TSBs will be done regardless of the warranty period. You may really want to get this kind of thing checked out at the dealership, it sounds like you aren't having "typical" clutch/gear problems.

It sounds like your clutch isn't disengaging all the way. There have been several threads on this subject, and most suggest that you flush and replace your clutch fluid, then adjust the clutch pedal and pushrod. Here is one link that you may want to read: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=121341 Gernby's comments tell you what to look for.

It is also possible that your clutch fluid has an air bubble, and needs to be bled. Xviper has an excellent writeup on this: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=118878 If you haven't had any clutch work lately this is probably not the case, but any good info coming from Xviper on the subject is worth reading. Since your car is a '00, You're probably better off to go ahead and flush your clutch fluid anyway.

Oops, I forgot another thing. If the problem has deteriorated rapidly and you've only owned the car for 4 months, it is possible that you have a clutch fluid leak at the slave cylinder, and the previous owner just topped off the fluid level (DOT 4 brake fluid) and didn't tell you about it. If that's the case, check the fluid level (and while you're at it, check to see how dark the stuff is).
