i just got this s2000 its an 01 with 60k and i got an aftermarket warranty. a couple things are seeming not to be normal. sometimes when i get on it and basically take it to the max in first gear it grinds into second gear. also when i am decelerating the car makes a noise from 4k rpm to 2k rpm. i got a TSB on it and it says its the clutch dampener and to fix the problem the clutch needs to be replaced. i don't think my warranty covers a clutch job i haven't inquired about it yet because i just got the car. how much do clutch jobs go for just incase i have to pay for it? and do you think that could have anything to do with the grinding> other than that the car is fine and i mean those aren't really things that need to be fixed right now anyway.

 

the clutch buzz is not really a problem as no damage is occuring. it is some springs in the disc vibrating.

does it grind ALL the time? or only when the tranny isn't warmed up.

 

You should make you title more descriptive so others know what this thread is about. As you are new, I'll do it for you.

 

My extended warranty did not cover the clutch buzz. Honda says since the clutch is a wear item, it is not covered by the warranty. I tried to explain to them that my clutch was not worn, just defective. It didn't work. Complain to them anyway. The more complaints they get, who knows, maybe they'll do a recall.
