it sort of sounds to me like your problem is the throwout bearing

 

Your problem may be something as simple as needing to lubricate the hinge pin on the pedal. Your description sounds like the same noise my wife's CR-V is making, lubricating the pedal is a common thing that needs to be done.

 

Thats why they are called throwout bearings, cause when they go bad, ya gotta throw em out.

 

They may have fogotten to grease the fingers on the PP or even the inputshaft cover.

If you're crafty you can get in there and look without pulling the tranny.
Hint: You'll need a 12mm wrench and a small mirror . . . maybe a flashlight would help too, oh yeah jack stands.
