I will try mine today in 1st and 2nd.

slipstream444: So what you did was let the clutch out very slowly for 1st then shifted to 2nd and fired in the clutch quickly?

I tried this with just first without any noise at all. It just has been in reverse for me.

I can't hear it in 1st or 2nd. I had to door open and was leaning out the car. I don't think it's there at all in any fwd gear. Just reverse for me.

If it's there in 1st i can't hear it.

I took it to my favorite Honda Mech and he possibly thinks it's a little more play in reverse than normal ... he's checking with Honda Tech tomorrow.
Damn, I will just pitch a fit if they have to pull another tranny on me ...
(original rebuilt and then ultimately replaced for a severe 1-2 grind ... this transmission has made the noise in reverse from day one ... Sh1+ !)

I get a similar noise while im moving in 1st and I let the clutch out quickly while moving. (IE.. i start moving and push the cluch in to coast then let it back out quickly)

I think that's just slack in the driveline though. But it is a similar noise.

I hate bringing back really, really old topics that have been dead for years, but I was unable to find any other threads on this specific topic, and would not have been able to describe the situation better than these guys here.

So,

Has this issue been solved?
Anyone else have it?
What causes it, how do I get rid of it if indeed its a bad/dangerous thing?

2006, has been doing it almost from the beginning (only 5 months old).

I have the "clunk+rattle" described above in reverse, and in 1st and 2nd when cold.
