I can’t really get a clear picture or view from the intake manifold but going to use my endoscope when I get home:

on this issue, is there a way to by pass it?

how hard is it to install since he isn’t taking responsibility for it since the check engine happened the next day. I found the part pretty cheap on eBay but it looks like a pain to replace.

are there any issues running the car with this until it gets replaced?

Just reset the battery and the code is gone. Is this the type of error that pops up right away or does it take a day or two?

Im asking since the mechanic said If the sensor broke due to his clutch job, the check engine light would have appeared right away.

Anyone who does a clutch on an S2000, and does not have prior knowledge of the knock sensor connection, is almost certain to break it while accessing the upper starter bolt.

Replace the knock sensor from underneath the car. You can feel for it and change it without removing any other components at all.

Yours is likely separated (green plastic part of knock sensor has been fractured from the metal part) but not hanging off.

Here is a video of the sensor using the endoscope. I see the cover broke off the wire.

Check engine light just came back on after my second trip with the car. Mechanic said he would change the part out if I get the part.

Just goinf to keep on reserting the battery since it runs it runs somewhat like shit when the engine light comes on and you go to neutral.

Hard to tell if it's broken from that video, maybe it's just the wire that has been damaged.
If you are going for a new sensor I would avoid the cheap know offs, a genuine one is usually over $150.
