its normal, all s2k's in cold weather have this problem. I found that cranking it once or twice for a split sec, but not starting it, then starting it. that makes a difference. But a thinner oil will also help.

Well I'm glad to hear it's normal. It has been snowing like crazy here the past couple days, and my S2000 hates starting in the morning. But at least it always does.

It's normal. Some say its the ECU, some say its the little bit of fuel frozen in the pump which cannot prime on the first go. Happens to me too.

maybe try cranking up the car and hold down the gas at 3,000rpms for a couple of second and let off. works for me granted my climate isnt nearly that cold

its not frozen fuel. Gas does not even begin to freeze til -97 degrees F. its possible ths ECU is part of the problem becuase it can't compensate for cold spark plugs. There isn't one thing that makes this problem but more a combination of things. But the main problems are how cold temps effect oil and batteries. Cold temps make oil thicker and batteries weaker. So thick cold oil and a battery in a weakend state make a hard start. So a battery with a higher CCA will help alot.

Could you recommend a battery?

optima, I don't know off hand how many CCA's our oem battery is, but I would get a battery that has 50-100 more.
