I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this item for track cars and cars that are driven fast on the street.

I found the install simple. I did not need to drill, or modify any holes. The only difficulty was reaching the #4 mounting bolt, and that was because I wasn't using the correct wrench. A long ratcheting box wrench worked easily.

It's true that the J's heatshield doesn't fit properly with the OEM heatshield, but I don't think pounding on it is the way to go. I made my own header heatshield in about 15 minutes from a piece of sheet aluminum, with layers of aluminum foil underneath, and it works every bit as good as the OEM shield.

The J's heatshield also went over a couple of AC lines, but that wasn't a problem, either. I just used a longer mounting bolt, and put an extra nut on it. One nut locks the bolt to the body, and the other nut holds down the shield, with the A/C line in-between. [I'll try to get a pic for you guys.] It was also a really simple solution, and it looks good.

I found a HUGE IMPROVEMENT in shifting quality. The average enthusiast might not appreciate the gains, but if you are into driving at or near the limit, IMO, this is a must have item!

If you don't notice the engine torquing effect and the instability of the engine/tranny combo before the install, then you probably won't be able to detect the improvement after the install.

There is a great difference when shifting while cornering near the limit of the tires, going over bumps while cornering/shifting, etc. The engine torquing effect can be enough to send you off the track/street in these situations.

If you want lightning-fast/smooth shifting, the ETD is the only way to go. If you do a search, you will find that most owners who have purchased this item DO notice an improvement.

This is my honest opinion. I don't sell these things, and I don't care if anyone else buys one.

i believe if you have some type of coilovers, you would probably feel a bit more difference.

I just installed my J's ETD & J's Heat shield and it was not all that difficult...yes the heat shield needed some help, but in the end it went in fine and rests on nothing

Now for those who said they didn't notice anything, I'm sorry but I truely don't understand this the difference is night and day in my opinion...when you shift there is minimum engine torque movement....I cannot wait until my next trip to the Dragon, you'll be able to transition through vtec without throwing off the cars balance

IMO, for the $460 (etd/strutbar/heatshield) that the set up cost, it's a good amount of bang/buck on the S.
