Hello All,

I just purchased a 2003 with 39,000 miles. I had it serviced by Blake Automotive in Atlanta. They have a great reputation. All 4 cylinders were between 205 and 215. Is that normal? I forgot to ask John Blake.

Those numbers are ok. Perhaps a little low for the low mileage, but still good. More important that numbers are consistent with each other. Things like gauge calibration, if engine wasnt warmed up, if throttle wasnt held open, if batt wasnt well charged, if fuel pump fuse wasnt pulled, any of these can cause lower numbers.

Shops rarely do compression tests, so its easy to overlook something on above list.

Consistency tells more about engine health than the numbers themselves, looks healthy.

 

Those were my results when I bought my 03 2 years ago. Pulls strong all day.
