Default Confusing light issue?

Ok, I've done some searching on here to no avail, but this is starting to get annoying so I figured I'd ask.

A few weeks after I bought the car I noticed that my left front light (the one that flashes when you lock/unlock the car, NOT the turn signal) was out. A few weeks later it reappeared (just as I was about to replace the blub) so I didn't think anything of it.

My front right has done this as well, though the front left seems to be the main culprit.

Once when I was driving at night, I'd say it was about 50ish that night, clear skies low humidity, my cruise control wouldn't come on. I tried EVERYTHING I could think of short of stopping the car on the side of the highway to turn it off and back on again, NOTHING would work.

This happened shortly after (checked the horn during this, I beleive Billman suggested this, or mentioned this in a similar thread, it worked fine) but corrected itself a minute or two later.

Also, my trunk light will sometimes come on, sometimes not. Not the biggest issue as I don't really use my trunk all that much, and if I do it's during the day - but still annoying.

I'm beginning to think it's an overall electrical issue with the car instead of a case of lightbulbs being burnt out, but for all I know all three/four are completely unrelated.

Anyone have any suggestions for things to check or input about similar experiences? Driveability isn't impacted at all as the car still functions well, but I feel like a bit of a doof when my left front light isnt' on when I drive at night and it gets slightly annoying when I have to fumble for something in the trunk every once in awhile.

Thanks in advance, I know it's a bit of an odd one!

If I haven't been specific enough please let me know, willing to answer any questions you all have to try and diagnose what could be causing this issue/these issues

I think your best be is to check the grounds where the headlights are. Has this car been in an accident? Perhaps the wiring has been done shabby like.

As for the cruise control, I am not sure. Perhaps they all tie in together. I am pretty sure they don't though. Sorry if I am not much help. But, the grounds throughout the car would be my first check. IE engine, Headlights, ETC....

Good luck

Just for the hell of it....

Under the hood, look right next to the area where the hood prop-rod pivots (by the white plastic coolant tank). There are 5 grounds attached to this one area. Take a 10mm wrench, and make sure it's tight.

I do know that the front bumper was repainted prior to me buying the car. I'll check the wiring and such as that could be an issue explaining the headlight stuff.

Thanks for the info, will report back and let you all know if it's fixed!
