Default Coolant change - is a flush necessary?

Hey guys - I recently purchased a MY2001 with 23k on the odometer. I've been going through and changing all the major fluids and the last one on my list is the coolant.

As far as I know, it's running the original coolant that came with the car so it's about 8 years old. From what I've read, it should be Honda Type II coolant and that's what I'll be replacing it with also.

Is it necessary to flush the system when replacing the coolant or should I just drain it and refill?

Just drain and fill is good, the coolant is good up to 120k! I have 105k and mine is still really bright green.

I think a flush by a Honda dealer would be a good idea.

Check the condition of the coolant. If its clear and uniform in color, then just drain the system.
