Default Cost for Vortech S/C Install?

I already have the kit.
I've been quoted $2000 -2300 for the installation of this S/C kit. This seems very high to me based on what I've read. The shop has a good reputation, but dang, that seems high.

In So. Cal., $800 to $1300. $2000 is very steep.

I am doing my own install this weekend - I can't believe it is that expensive to do it! It sounds like sideways prices are more in line with what it should be!

hey nzaizar are you going to the supermeet? Or actually even if we organize our bbq in st. augustine. The reason i ask, is if you do get the s/c on before then can I get a ride in it? I really want to see if I want to do this mod in the future. oh ya I believe you are the one who had all of the cameras at the orlando supermeet, did you ever finish that video? Thanks for the help.

man! i did my own, and i'm far from being a good mechanic, and it wans't at all that painful, just time consuming.

you should consider doing it yourself if you have a buddy that knows more than you do and willing to give you a hand where you need it.

JEEZ! well thanks for the responses. I figured this was the case. Well I don't have the tools. I thought about doing it myself but I don't want to screw anything up. This shop will guarantee their work at least. And at least they do a dyno before and after:P

here's my own write up called supercharger install for dummies. i think the beginning will tell you how little experience i had with engine work up to this point. just think what you could do with all the money you'd be saving by doing it yourself. new header? exhaust? both? maybe give it to me??
