Default Cracked oil pan

I just discovered a pool of oil under the car and when I check underneath, I discovered a small (1 inch) crack near the oil drain plug. Did anyone have a similar problem and did anyone try to weld it? Thanks, Peter

i would replace it if possible . Welding it properly would require removal of the pan to begin with . i haven't seen or heard of them cracking without some sort of an impact .

Used oil pans are pretty cheap. And if it's cracked from the thread hole, then you'd have to weld AND re tap the drain bolt which frankly wouldn't be worth it at all to me and you'd probably just be paying more.

This may indicate an issue with crushable washers that should be NEW for every use, with proper torque when reinstalling the oil drain bolt after an oil change. A used washer may leak leading to an over torque to stop it resulting in a cracked oil pan near the drain bolt hole.

Thank you all for the advice. It must be the crushable washer as cosmomiller mentioned as I did not use a new one with every oil change.
