Crashed into the woods, now my shifter is 2in to left
After 5 years of ownership, i didnt respect her for 1 minute and she bit me. Wet roads, spun and ended up in the woods. Thank god no one was hurt and i got really lucky there is only the front fender that needs replacing. But im really worried about the trans/shifter/shift linkage. I was in gear when i lost it and jumped the curb and went in the woods. I was able to drive the car home as i was only 1 mile from home but the shifter in the car is sitting like 2 inches to the left and its hard to shift through the gears. What did i damage ? Im not leaking any fluids but i dont know whats up. Any help is appreciated guys.

I would get the car to a shop/lift where you can lift it up and inspect it. Sounds like the trans got pushed to one side and threw the shifter off center. Which, with trans mounts I find hard to believe but idk how hard you hit. You could have also just bent the shifter assembly which you can replace pretty easily

The rear crossmember that supports the gearbox mounts is pretty easy to bend. I've seen a car with a similar problem when the owner reversed over one of those concrete blocks they put at the end of parking spaces. CRUNCH.
easy to bolt and and fit a new one if you use a jack to support the gearbox. The rear rubbers can also get torn so may need replacing.
Have a really good look at the rear housing of the gearbox ( skinny part bolted to the back of the main case). They are fragile and I've seen a few cracked after a knock.

Something similar to this had happened to me and it ended up being my motor mounts got torn and popped out of place. Fixed it and the issue with the transmission fixed. (Same issue you're having)

You were right man ! Motor mount caused the shifter to sit off center, once that was replaced it went back to normal. I also bent the steering rack ...smh

Thanks for the replys fellas , it ended up being the fender, also had the front bumper resprayed, painted my Ap2v3s GPW with custom center caps (red H) (looks great!) , motor mount and bent steering rack, also did license plate delete and alignment was needed. Could of been worse... alot worse.
