Now that you've moved on from the SC I'd be interested in your feedback about the intercooler. Was it up to scratch? Did it make a noticable difference.

I was looking into custom making an air/water intercooler and came across the Paul Weel Racing site. It was then that I realised you had used a PWR core. Can you tell me what size core you used? The 4"x6" has a 2" in/out. The 6"x 8" has a 3". I'm guessing the 4x6 as length seems to be a major concern.

If anyone else is interested in this kit as an alternative to the Comptech I will be speaking to some fabricators shortly.

It was a 4 x 6. The core did its job - I just felt that the boost drop was a bit high. I don't know if it was the way I had it fab'd or the core itself. Either way, I was able to overcome it by just running more boost. The last time the car was on the dyno, it pulled 320 RWHP. Not bad for a little 2 liter.

I would be interested in seeing in what Comptech's kit drops the boost. Having spoken to them, I got the feeling that it would be close to .5 PSI - that is much easier to handle.

The PWR core looks like a simple solution but requires some difficult fabrication. Added to that your concerns about pressure drop and I guess I'd be better off custom fabricating the whole core chamber.

I'll let you know what I come up with.
