Default CV joint help

I had a vibration under acceleration, so i figured it was the drivers side cv joint. sure enough it was!

My question is do i buy a new one or just swap it?
It's definately worn to the point were u can see it. Also i was playing with the grease and could feel alot of metal shavings in it...

Is it worth buying the spacers?

Finally if i drove on it to long is it possible i damaged anything else, like the shafts?

Thanks for your help!

Unlikely your half shafts were damaged. And since you've already got the CVs out...just swap them. No need for spacers.

From the pictures it's obvious you already have at least one out. At this point just swap them. Buy some Redline CV-2 grease, repack them and swap them. The vibrations should be gone for quite some time.

When they eventually come back, but the 2 piece spacers and once again, you'll be vibration free for quite some time again.

Specific way: fill them from the bottom (flange side) and the sides.
Certian amount: 5.3-5.6 oz.
I would work some into the little bearings as well IF you washed them out.

I bought the grease in a tube (I think 14oz). I sqeezed in a little less then half for each "bucket" and used some to lube up the bearings. I had a little bit too much in the one so when i "burped" the boot, a bit popped out.

Thanks again for your help guys!
Overall it took me about 4 hours to do.
I swapped the cv joints and replaced the fluid with reline.
Next project is adjusting valves
