CV joint not mating up with driver side half shaft

This is offtopic but ...

When I was removing the cotter pin, I broke it and now it is stuck inside the holes. I don't have enough of the cotter pin to be able to grab it out. It's just sort of jammed in there. I've tried pushing it out with a pin, but no avail. How should I get it out? Drill it out?

If you mean the cotter pin on the ball joint that you had to disconnect, then you can get a nail about the size of the hole and blunt off the point. Use this nail to drive the broken bits of the pin out.
