Default CV Joint Swap Question

Been lowered for a while now and the infamous rear end shaking has begun, so I plan on doing this soon and was just wondering if there is anyway of doing this without removing the axle completely.

Thanks.

It is possible. It would be unbelievably messy when all the grease starts dropping on you when you remove the CV 'cup' though. The only step you would save is removing the axle nut and actually sliding the axle out of the hub. You would still need to pop the lower ball joint on the knuckle and slide the axle out of the diff. The job will go MUCH easier if you remove the axle.

2 piece half-shaft spacer, which DO NOT require the removal of the axle, would accomplish basically the same thing.

YMMV.

swapped them last Fri. As good as new now. It was fairly simple and having the axles off the car completely made it a lot easier.

The hardest part was trying to get those damn cotter pins out of the ball joint haha
