Cylinder #2 rod bearing failure again :-(
#23
This only applies once you get the engine torn down and crankshaft out of the engine but Inspect the crankshaft oil holes, especially the oil hole going to #2 pin, try to even shove a pipe cleaner or something similar through until you get it through coming out the other end. Just to eliminate one possibility of some obstruction in the oil hole, could have been there from the first bearing failure or could have been introduced from welding the Pin larger. Try to get some photos of the crank pin #2?
I have a recommendation of where to repair cranks here in Ohio but that's probably no help

I see your in Sac so if Chrome Craft still does small crank shafts they can fix almost any crank. My two drag engines(back in the 70's) had cranks done by C/C(hard industrial chrome) and my S/B Chevy revved 7800 to 8000 rpm. Before C/C I had to change main and rod bearings mid way through the season, after the work on my crank's I went 2 years on the bearings. High performance cranks need a finer polish than a standard crank does and the hard industrial chrome they put on the crank is far better than any micro polish can achieve.
