Default Cylinder head rebuild

Hey guys, I just wanted to ask what is the average price for a cylinder head rebuild. I was told I need one and was given a price of $2500. To me it seems pretty high but I want to ask for your guys opinions. Thanks

That is insanely high. Shipping it to me to rebuild and me shipping it back would be far less than that. If you're semi-local I could also do removal and reinstallation as well.

PM me if you're interested.

I drove my car to Jordan (13 hours away for me at the time) and had him pull my head and install me a freshly refurbished (OEM) one that he refurbished himself. He pulled my head, installed everything, pointed out some bad bearings in the process (pulleys), i brought a new alternator and starter with me that he put on, the whole head gasket and valve cover gasket kit supplied and installed, completely bled the system with new Honda Type 2 coolant and made sure there was zero air, no funny noises or leaks after the install and 10k miles later is still driving like a champ. It has higher than factory compression on each cylinder with a calibrated gauge.

And he could have gotten it done in ~5 hours if I didn't bug him like 1000x with questions lol.

All of that... was almost half of what your guy quoted.

And I can almost guarantee your guy will mess something up if he hasn't done an S2000 before. If he pulls and installs your head.

You could buy an entire, decently running motor for about that much.
