Denso Iridium and engine missing
I have recently experienced the same problem some infequence--momentary fuel cutoff at high rpm. Since I know very little about mechanical subjects, please allow me to ask further questions in detail.
What tools do I need to remove the MAP sensor?
What do I use to tap the MAP sensor?
How hard do I tap the MAP sensor?
What does tapping do to "fix" the sensor?
If it's faulty, why shouldn't I just take it into the dealer for a replacement?
Thanks!

The MAP sensor is very easy to get to and can be removed in a few seconds. It's held on by two phillips head screws.
It is a pressure transducer. It "converts manifold absolute pressure into electrical signals to the ecm". There is a picture of the internal workings of the device on page 11-22 of the service manual.
I can't imagine why tapping on it would help, but from my old stuck carburetter float days, a quick rap with the handle side of the same #2 phillips screwdriver you would use for removal is the "standard mechanics tap"
