Did I just eat 2nd gear?
So I was driving around and dropped into second to pass somebody. When I did this the car make a loud *thunk* and it seemed like it wasn't getting the full power it should.
At the next light, I took off in 1st and noticed a slight rattle, when I shifted into second it was a LOUD rattle. If I go into third it rattles ever so slightly, and it rattles a tad in reverse too. The car moves in all gears, a slight grind going into 2nd but nothing huge. Also make a *whirrrr* noise when it goes into 2nd. It rattles in neutral, but stops if I push the clutch in.
Again, it feels like it's slipping a bit in 2nd, but really I haven't punched it in any gear since I don't want to grenade anything. I drove it back home skipping 2nd gear and it seemed fine.

Bump. Posting under friend's account.
It's making the rattle in 1st now. Worst in 2nd.
The clutch still engages, the car still moves in all gears and gets full power, etc. It just makes a death rattle in 2nd.
Think it could be the bearings?
