Diff Axle Seal Leak
Hey guys, I just noticed today when changing brake pads that I had a diff fluid leak from the left axle seal. I got the axle out and pulled out the input shaft. A chunk of the seal had torn off from the rest of the seal and was wedged between the seal and input shaft. What would cause this? I'm lowered without spacers. Also, I have not noticed any sounds or vibrations coming from the diff. There was only about half of the normal amount of fluid left in the diff, so hopefully its ok. The fluid came out clear. I'm having a hard time getting the old seal out, but I think it will just take some fiddling with it to get it out. Would using shaft spacers help prevent this? I'm not making incredible power, the car is set up for STR autocross.
Thanks!
Thanks!
