Default Diff Fluid quesion

Redline Oil makes two different types of 75w90. one is made for limited slip. and one says. "not for use in limited slip differentials", one has the friction modifier addditive and one does not. which fluid do i get. being S2K's do NOT have clutch type LSD's? should i get the one with the FM's just to be safe? is it ok to put FM's in the AP1 differential? I'm ordering fluid in 2 days. please respond. Thanks

You don't need any friction modifier or addditives. 75w90. GL4 will be just fine.

No Friction Modifier is necessary since our Torsen differential is gear-based and does not use friction plates.

Has to be GL4, though.

The official diff oil recommendation is SAE 90, GL-5 (/GL-6).
No multiweights, no GL-4 rated oil.

Check your owners manual to confirm.

per REDLINE 75W90 is correct. I asked their 'tech' dept.

BTW, I switched both the MT (MTL) and the diff (75W90) a couple of weeks ago (about 500 miles). the shifting is like butter, a lot less clunk and the 2-3 shift is much better.

I believe the MTL is a 75W-80, eitherway, the MTL matches the Honda spec exactly.

Use the regular Redline 75W-90 GL-5 in the rear diff.
