Default Differencial question?

Here I am, living on the Texas Gulf Coast and we experienced our first (or at least "my" first) white Christmas this year!

I got caught out in the snow while in my S2000 after attending midnight Mass and had to drive home in it. It was an interesting experience, to say the least, and I posted the story under S2000 Talk just to share the tale.

Anyway, today is the first day I've driven my S2000 since that episode and I'm noticing something that I've never felt before. I'm getting a strong pull to the right under acceleration. I'm not talking VTEC either, just normal running it up through the gears with shift points anywhere between 3 and 4k. The car tracks straight as always when cruising at a steady speed but when I push down on the gas peddle, even in 6th gear, there's a definite swing to the right. It's like all the power is going to the left rear wheel.

Anyone got any ideas as to what's going on here? The car feels fine otherwise and I'm not hearing anything out of the ordinary, noise wise. I'm thinking this is a differential issue but am not sure.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks & Drive Safe,
Steve R.

The standard reply to this question is - first, recheck your tire pressures.

Agreed! I thought of that after I posted the question. I looked at the tires while filling the tank this evening and they "look" Ok but I'll check them for real first thing in the morning.

Thanks for the reply, Denis.

Anyone else?

I know the diff automatically sends more power to the wheel that has the most grip, so perhaps there is one wheel that has something on it that's making it slip more. If you were having diff problems, I'm sure the results would be a whole lot worse. But who knows? I'm not an expert

But definitely check the tire pressure for sure.

Well, tires it was! I've been running around a lot lately (not in the S2000) and didn't get around to checking tires until now but finally did it. Only had 10psi in the right rear wheel.

I must say, it says a lot about how stiff those side walls are. I never felt like the wheels made ground contact and the car felt perfectly normal with the exception of pulling hard to the right under acceleration. Now, all I've got to do is find out why that tire lost so much pressure all of the sudden. I couldn't see anything on the parts of the tire that I had good visual access to so I'll probably have to remove it. I'm just hoping the nail, or what ever it is, is still there so it's easy to find. We'll see.......

Thanks for the input guys,
