Default difficulty separating engine and transmission

In the project to replace my damaged transmission I can't seem to get the old one to let lose.

I have five lower and three upper bolts out. I have the clutch fork pulled. It seems like it should pull off but I cannot get any movement. I've done this before and don't remember this problem.

What have I missed? Any tips or things you did to get a separation?

Upper starter bolt threads into the transmission.

Be VERY careful working with this bolt, the knock sensor is right there and will break if you so much as touch it with the extension.

Good point. I thought I got the upper starter bolt but maybe I got the wrong bolt. I will double check. Thanks.

That was it, thanks Billman. Just a note, it is even harder to get that bolt if you already have the car up and the engine dropped. Don't do my screwup... get it early in the process.
