DIY Compression Testing

You need not crank it 8-9 times, A solid 5-6 turns will be enough to give you a proper reading.

Also you want to let your car warm up b4 you do the test and cold results will be lower then hot results. This is very important.

Be sure to hold pedal to floor while cranking it over till you stop.

Would it be ok to have had the car driven for about an hour before performing the test? I am about to purchase a S from a forum member and he will be driving down to my place for us to do the compression test. I am now worried that having the car driven for so long would affect the test. Any thoughts/opinions?

Should I just goto his place and do the test there?

That's fine. As stated in the original post, you want the engine to be warm when performing the test.
