Wow. I just did a compression test and got:
1: 265psi
2: 295psi
3: 270psi
4: 265psi
Any explanation for such high numbers? Did it cold. Just replaced engine with an 05 with 22k miles.

No. I'm at 15ft above sea level. Near the coast of NC
I wouldn't be concerned about it reading high, but I might consider trying a different tester, and also trying it with a warm engine to see how it changes. How many miles on on it?

That was actually a joke, since there probably isn't any place on the planet that would be so far below sea level.

Though I posted that 228 PSI~ was the nominal compression by definition nominal means - . minimal in comparison with real worth or what is expected; token a nominal fee -
So I take this as if you are at 228 that s fine, but I would like to actually find out straight out of the factory what you're suppose to be making, or maybe like after 5,000 miles. I am sure it is different because rings have not seated in the beginning. What do you guys think?

this is a helpful thread for those who may not have known how to do a test. accurate to the last bit.
i just did my compression test and here is the breakdown:

cyl1: 240-242
cyl2: 240-242
cyl3: 240-242
cyl4: 240-242
keep posting your info guys. this will come in handy for someone some day.
