IIRC the only variation re: hardtop install is the defroster wiring harness. The side catchers are the same for all years.

Thanks for the write up... I got a hardtop last weekend and it helped tremendously seeing I had no instructions from the previous owner!

Why do the side latches need to be bent to fit the contour of the soft top? Is this the case for all years of oem hardtops. Also why does the hardtop rest on the soft top?
Thanks for a responding to a question asked in Jan 2015

the spacers in the beginning that u put on the soft top, is to cushion the soft top frame. the hardtop rests on the soft top, putting alot of weight on it. so the rubber spacer prevents the frame from touching when the soft top is folded.

second, when using the punch to bend the area for the side latches.
keep the 12mm and 10mm screws in there while hammering away. i took them out first and when i bent it, the screw holes and thread no longer aligned, and i had to go back and bend it to alignment.

thanks for the post and pixs.. deff helped more than the blk and white instructions that honda has.

This is an excellent thread! We will refer our customers to this thread too!

Contrary to what many people think - this is the only PROPER and SAFE way to ship a hardtop!

Just want to say that I also used this DIY for fitting the OEM hardtop in my car and it was of great help, so thumbs up to the OP! Just a pitty that not all pics show up, some are just as links, it would probably be nice for others if that could be fixed.
