For those wondering there is NO difference between the window regulators of the AP1 and AP2. The part is on order and "should" arrive before Christmas.

My window regulator is broken too but it's not the cable as the window did not just come crashing down. It's the 3rd time that it happened. The first two times that it happened it started working by itself and it was stuck in the up position but now it's stuck in the down position and it's raining...=(

Thank you so much for writing this!! My window came crashing down yesterday and no dealership can get me a regulator for another couple days. Meanwhile it's raining here.

Now at least I can take my time ordering a more reasonably priced regulator off ebay and can at least get my window to stay up with your guide.

Ha, I tried to make it entertaining...I'm a big fan of Dave Barry's style of humor and writing and tried to incorporate a little of that.

Hmm that's strange. 3 times I would think there is another problem that is frying the regulator. Also, does the window move smoothly? Maybe it is having to overwork and burns out. Make sure there is enough grease.

Haha good! I would definitely not buy from the dealer. Like I said, they were quoting something like $340 for the part, which is ridiculous. In actuality, the motor was running fine, it was just my cable that snapped. But for $65 it was worth buying the whole assembly.

Somebody said in this thread they are the same, and I'd be inclined to believe them. I wouldn't see why the regulator or motor would need any changes from AP1 to AP2.

Hey, clarkster thats for the DIY/pictures. It helps a LOT to see whats in there. the plastic gears in mine probably snapped - lucky for me the window still goes up -ish. so I dont have to worry about the rain.

Much appreciated!
