Do I need AP2 Valve Retainers?

Too many people have accidently mis-shifted. If you'll be running at redline and you make one mistake, it's goodbye engine time. Better to be safe than sorry, is my way of thinking.

I would just replace them. I just did mine on My'01. I never tracked the car, the previous owner was some old dude that made violins. About 2-3 months ago someone stole our S and we got it back after they ditched her. I replaced them for peace of mind. 2-3 of them had small fractures and and 1-2 of them had micro cracks, you could see the shadow that the oil was causing. My .02$, It's better to have them done, then find out by having your engine go bye-bye.
