Its function isn't for added radiator cooling, just incase that wasn't made clear.

I was thinking to buy one of this also. After the hottest sommer here in Germany, i discoverd that the only thing a Honda S2000 needs is cold air at the intake of the filter box.
Its like motorcyles before the invention of ram air inlets: In sommer, they loose a lot of power, noticebale. In spring and autum, on a cold day, the front wheel gets light or airborne even in second gear.

Why the honda engineers have placed the Inlet of the airbox in the hot engine bay, behind the radiator, in a way done in the 60s and 70s, really puzzles me.
Even on my VW Golf MK III with 75 HP the air inlet is routed out of the engine bay to the inside of the fender, allowing for cool air.

run a datalog with the factory piece in place at speed, then put this in and run same datalog to compare- then post your results as I'd be curious.

I did this with the OEM airbox and FIPK. the FIPK saw a consistent 10 degree drop at speed.

Heres a interessting read: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-un.../#post20324303
But i wonder how the OEM plate design is able to pull air above the Radiator to the Airbox inlet, in my eyes the OEM plate is shut, beside a few tiny slots. Am i missing something?

@ darcyw: Sorry, but whats a FIPK?
