Easy Way to Pull Knock Sensor?
I need to pull my knock sensor and then do a run to make sure it's not what's causing my fueling issues. I think it may be "over active" or "noisy" and I want to unplug it and do a run and see if I'm still running rich AFRs. However, I couldn't get to it this AM when I tried it, there were too many hoses and wires in the way (I couldn't even see it). Is there a tricky way to get to it? Do I need to get under the car and take all the under-tray stuff off -- can it be reached from underneath?
You can reach up and unplug it from underneath. Be VERY careful as it is brittle and the slightest pressure will break it. I recommend a warm engine block (not hot) so it unplugs with ease.
Edit: I would however do a leak down test as well to make sure there aren't any issues with any valves, though with consistent numbers like that it would seem like it's definitely the rings.
