Default ECU Imobilizer Question

After reading a lot about ECU Imobilizer flashing I have a question:

I'm thinking about getting an 02 ECU for my 01 and I know the new ECU Imobilizer will have to be "flashed" by the dealer. The question is can I use one of my keys for the original ECU, and have my other key for the new ECU, and be able to switch the ECUs back and forth using their respective keys?

Thanks in advance.

Yes.

Acutally you can have all of your keys coded for both ECUs. it is the ECU that remembers the keys, not the keys remembering the ECUs.

You have to have at least one key that doesn't have "T5" stamped into it too. I think T5's are vin cut though.

T5 keys are cloned copies of existing recognized keys. You can not program a T5 key to start the car when all keys are lost.

T5 keys are available for 00-05 cars. T5 is stamped on the metal part of the key. They can only duplicate an existing programmed key.

The same immobilizer rules apply with all cars. If you swap PCM's the keys will have to be relearned to the new PCM.
