Default Electrical Issue

Finally got around to putting in new blinker bulbs. Went to do a test, pushed my hazards and walked around the car.

All of the blinkers are working except for them front driver side blinker. Switched the bulbs around to see if it was the bulb...same problem. Keep in mind that it bought this car used from a college kid that really didn't take good care of it.

It seems to me that it's probably a problem with the wires. The car was in a front end collision and the wires did look pretty chewed up, electrical tape and everything. Tomorrow, weather permitting, I was going to unwrap all that tape and see what's all going on in there. Anybody else got any idea on where I should start looking?

Checked the fuse boxes and everything checked out OK. No blown fuses at all.

I asked a buddy of mine and he suggested checking the grounding blocks in the engine bay. I looked at them and the one by the driver side headlight is fairly jacked looking. I felt around and there are some black crispy wires. (Keep in mind that the vehicle has been in a front end collision on the front driver side). Wires are a bit mangle looking on top of being crispy (burnt). He thinks thats where my problem is.

His suggestion, trace the wire until I find where it starts getting crispy, follow it to the grounding block and make sure its the correct wire. He also suggested turning on the blinker and jiggling the wire around to see if I can get the turning signal to turn on. After that cut and soder new wire in place and reground it. Should be good after that.

Am I tracking in the right direction? Or should I begin elsewhere? I doubt this will help me, but does anybody happen to have a wiring diagram for the headlight? Wires leading to and from. If not it shouldn't be to hard to trace wires. It'll just take more time.

That's because there is no fuse the controls only 1 turn signal. Did you try spinning the bulb 180 degrees in the socket? When you turn on just that side turn signal does it blank 2x as fast?

I had kinda figured that since I didn't see a turn signal fuse and only saw headlight fuses I was out of luck on that road.

Yes, when I engage that side turn signal it does blink 2x faster.

Swap the bulb 180 degrees. If that doesn't work then start tracing wires.

Swapped it, looks like I'll be chasing wires. Just gotta wait for the weather to warm up a little bit.

Neglected to tell anyone that the previous owner took the side markers on the fenders off the car. So I looked behind the fender and found cut wires on both the driver and passenger side. They just cut out everything for those side markers.

Well on the driver side there are 3 cut wires as opposed to 2 on the passenger side.

The 2 of the cut wires are green with a red stripe and 1 black. I'm pretty sure that this is my problem and was wondering what the hell do I need to connect these too to possible get my driver side blinker and running light working again? Also have a friend test the blinker socket. I have good ground but no power to the socket.
