electrical woes
so the other week the EPS light came on and I lost power steering then the ABS light came on and the radio started cutting off and on then the dash dimmed completely. I was confused by this and then the car started bogging down so i pulled over and it died. I realised that my battery was dead so i assumed it was my alternator. i had a friend bring me a new battery so i could drive it home and as i was installing it i noticed a few things.
1. the top alternator bolt had broken off and half the bolt was now in the belt tensioner bracket.
2. the bottom alternator bolt was missing???
3. the alternator was subsequently laying against the engine block.
4. the Air Pump solenoid had been ripped off by the belt and was missing and the wires that ran to the clip were all knotted up.
so i bought a new alternator, a tensioner bracket and the missing bolts. i checked the alternator fuse and it was fine (oddly enough) put it all together and the battery is only reading 12.34 volts when the engine is running, it should be noted that it was giving me the same reading with the other alternator that i took out.
is there another fuse of relay other than the 15a one under the hood?
