Emissions legal exhaust...?
I have what im sure is a stupid question. I just bought the HKS HIPER exhaust, and im praying its emissions legal. Here in delaware the laws are pretty stiff. Im just crossing over from the world of "golf", to the world of import tuning Any info would be helpful, i'd rather be embarassed by my lack of knowledge now, than loose thousands down the road. Thnx

I do know its cat back, and from what i understand, most cat back exhaust are emissions legal( noise pollution is a whole nother story. I'll just feel a whole lot better when if one of you guys or girls would agree with me

HKS exaust has the seal of approval similar to CARB in Japan,
it is called JASMA. It is even more strict on the emmission, acceptable noise standard over there, so you shouldn't worry at all if is ok to use at your state or anywhere else for that matter.

Most exhaust (if not all) that are cat back are emissions legal. They may not have undergone the proper CARB certification but will pass on the smog meter provided you haven't drastically changed most other air/fuel items. The thing you have to watch out for is local noise levels.
