Default engine and cabin air filter after 26742 miles

I just changed my engine air filter, and AC micron cabin air filter after 26742 miles. the manual calls for changing these at 30K miles... but from what I (and others, see airgate's DIY posting)-- you should change your AC micron air filter MUCH SOONER. I'm going to be changing mine every 20K miles. the engine air filter-- while pretty dirty-- probably would've been fine until 30K miles.

here's some pics. keep in mind that the cabin air filter (square thing on the r-side) used to be WHITE. I put some skittles down for color balance.

edit: a couple minor hints when installing the new filters:
engine air filter-- when you install the new filter, there is a round soft-rubber "female" opening at the bottom of the airbox, into which fits the "male" protrusion at the bottom of the air filter. pretty easy to install the filter and not realize that it isn't fitted properly.

cabin air filter-- see my posting in airgate's DIY thread

Under the windsheild wiper cowl, on the passenger's side of the car.

yeah yeah ...my cabin filter looked like that (bad/dirty) when i changed it at 10,000 miles...I think that at 30K those filters must close to blocked...

YMMV dependant on what geography & conditions you drive in - I guess.

Not mine but another 10K miles cabin filter from one of our local (Metro NYC) tech days...

Nice....I've had customers complain that their VTEC engagement sucks, when compared to mine

a dirty air filter will do it every time.

Seems like the cabin filter (which filters ALL air coming into the cabin, from heat and AC or just air moving through the vents) is shot at about 20k for me, and I don't even drive in any dust. My car is set on fresh air all the time, with the fan always on low (recommended) keeps the interior smelling like fresh leather

my settings too. fresh air plus one light on fan.... the car seems to get stuffy without the fan on at least one light....

well at least it seems stuffy when the top is up and the vents aren't flowing with air....

My car tends to have alot of dust in it. Even if it sits in the garage for a day. When I came back to it the dash and everything is all dusty. The filter would filter the dust right? (as far as my a/c bringing in dust)

What's the point of a cabin air filter in a convertible?

I'm tempted to leave it out unless someone can give me a good reason to keep it in.

edit: Oops! Forgot, it wouldn't be SCCA A-Stock legal to remove it!
