Engine check light after oil change

Default Engine check light after oil change

Hello guys, I changed my oil sunday. I put in about 5.1 qrts of 10W30 Fully synthetic mobil 1 oil and a new filter. I drove with no problem monday, but today coming to work my engine check light turned on. Any ideas?? I will be checking my oil level during my lunch brak today.. I hope is nothing serious. Thanks in advance.

Just check what code it is throwing. Best way to know for sure. If you don't have an obdII scanner can just go to autozone I think and they have a scanner you can use to check it out.

Agreed, it could be completely unrelated. Pull the code and find out what it is.

it was probably a tiny gremlin that was living in your engine that was disturbed when you changed your oil but has since calmed down, thus explaining why the check engine light turned off.
