Well, I'm no pro. It just doesn't sound any different than any other S2000 engine I've listened to. This is a very mechanical sounding engine. Moreso than any other I've owned.

Spec, did Billman give you any more of a diagnosis (via PM?) besides that it wasn't the T. chain tensioner?
yea i was mainly worried about when i revved it- but if it sounds like everybody elses then ill leave everybody alone. hey viper- on my other topic would i adjust the pulley while the car is running? thanks

nah he just responded to the thread but he might have been in a rush.

Now, what do you do when your bored at 1am and don't have work till 5pm later in the day...do ANOTHER VA just to be sure of everything. So yeah, I ripped the valve cover off again and rechecked all the valves just to be 100% sure it is not valve clicking. It is not valve clicking.

Biz: The clicking is coming from the exhaust side of the engine (very audible) and you can hardly hear it from the intake under side, or above the engine. You can also hear it pretty well standing behind the car. This leads me to believe, I might have an exhaust leak so tomorrow (later today) I'll check that -- I did notice the car a tad louder so that could explain it.

I'll update after I get some sleep.

This is not an "adjustment". It is purely diagnostic. If you suspect the belt tensioner is make some odd noises, you can increase and decrease the tension of it on the belt. This is done when you are hearing the noise, so yes, the engine is idling. That's why you must be careful not to get caught up in anything that's spinning. The belt can suck loose clothing through a pulley and injure you severely.
If it is the tensioner that is making your noise, you can alter the noise (make it worse or make is less) by altering the tension on it manually. If the noise persists without change, then it's not the tensioner. If it is the tensioner, then you know you must look into it further, perhaps consider putting in a new one.

Well it is not an exhast leak -- unless I have a crack in the header somewhere (doubtful).

After doing the 3rd valve adjustment and double checking myself the clicking is about as loud as biz which leads me to believe that this is just normal sounds from the engine.

So with that being said, thanks to all that helped, I guess my engine just likes to make noises at me

FWIW, after the 3rd VA the car is running stronger then ever and it feels great
