I keep it clean under there. But lately red valve cover been fading. Tried this:

Judge for yourself.

More impressive in person. A nice satin finish. Non greasy. Engine isn't jist clean, it looks brand new.

Gotta spray light coats, which is made more difficult because the stuff sprays thick. DON'T WIPE.

Let it sit 24 hours. Only then wipe down any wet spots. Works especially well on rubber and plastic.

Are the clips on the battery going to a trickle charger?

I was thinking the same thing. I hard wired the connectors for my battery minder. I hook it up and then drop the unit down past the oil filter to the floor. I fish it out and plug it in. I leave a marker on the console/seat to remind me about the charging so I won't drive away with it connected as the hood is closed. I use a paint stir stick with Sharpie markings: Charging.

Great paint job on the valve cover!

As for the battery tender/charger I have a permanent pigtail and just leave the hood open to remind me not to drive off.

I use 303. It gives a deep shine to the plastics and revitalizes the valve cover nicely too

I have been using 303 for many years now. Rubber, plastic, the top on the S2000(original), tires occasionally, and also the valve cover which looks brand new. Great stuff for sure!
