Another thread got me thinking about the Lost Motion Assymblies. Has anyone with this sound checked into if this might be the cause? I have never heard of them failing, but truthfully IDK how to even check them. They are inexpensive and relatively easy to replace though.

Well I just finished pressing in a new bearing for the lower smooth pulley. I paid $7 bucks for it on ebay. I will fire her up later and see if there was any difference. Never thought about lost motion assembly but definitely a good place to check.

Yeah mine sounds very similar, But the knock happens less often -_-. Engine runs great though so im completely at a loss as to what it is...

Strangley though i was with a friend of mine last night who has a brand new Ford Fiesta ST that only has done 200 miles since new. I was parked next to him yesterday and that makes the exact same knock only at idle. so that fills me with a bit of hope that its not serious its Very strange though non the less

I have piston slap that is very noticable in my Forester and when searching I came across this video, which does an awesome job of explaining what Piston slap is. I am thinking a lot of what people are hearing is just some variation of this concept.

Went too see a honda specialist. He wasnt too sure either.... -_-. He said that it sounds like the head in honesty and not the bottom end. He said that i should adjust the tappets first and slowly start ruling everything out. So that's my next move.

He also said that it could be a damaged Piston wrist pin :/

Mine sounds exactly 100% like this one i found on youtube. And the noise goes away completely when you you rev it.
