I don't have my Helm manual handy, but I recall that the knock sensor is on the side under the intake manifold. The only thing I can think of on the exhaust side is the coolant drain plug (or in my case, the block heater). I suppose the guy who did the clutch job could have damaged it when trying to get at the starter bolt.

Make them fix it...only way to mechanically damage it is with a wrench. I'm with Xv on the fact that it was prolly damaged while accessing the upper starter bolt.

You should see if the sensor is broken off, you will have to get it on a lift. it is between cyl.2 and3 drivers side. . Mine was and it keep throwing the knock code.

i was installed my oem exhaust on my car today and after the check engine light came on. is that because i possibly hit a sensor somewhere? if so where. and also i did not put in the exhaust gasket yet (because i lost mine) could that be the problem?

If your talking about the gasket between the header and the head, I'm not sure that's your problem with the cel. BUT, you can do major damage to the head without a gasket, by overheating it.

You probably snagged an O2 wire

Best advice...don't drive the car, get the gasket

Go to Autozone or something and get a cheap OBDII code reader. They may even do a quick scan for you for free.

Don't reset the ECU, it won't fix anything.

BTW, AutoZone always pulls codes for free.
