Don't get touchy, because I mean nothing personal. Lots of guys make statements like this and I'm wondering why. Scientific proof ? Why would you choose an oil and then say it's "better" than some other oil ? Please clarify "better"
I'm about to do first oil change in my S and if there really is testing that shows a "best" oil I'd like to know. If it's just opinions then I already have my own.

Thanks

Steve
Steve,

I believe if you pick up a bottle of Amsoil, it compares the viscosity break down and maybe some other stuff to alot of the leading brands, ie Mobil, Quaker etc. There's alot of idependent tests out there too.

Be careful about "racing" oils, they are made to have very frequent change intervals. and dont have the additives for daily street use.

I'm not sure where your info is coming from, but Amsoil's Series 2000 is recommended for their longest OCIs, and has a very robust additive package. You can argue that it isn't worth the added cost over their 10W30, but there is belief that 0W- oils do a better job of getting oil to your engine quicker at startup, minimizing wear.

Amsoil's viscosity index improvers are very shear stable, so S2000cabrio is putting some good stuff in his engine.

The post says "racing oil" I have read posts somewhere on this subject. and yes the amsoil series 2000 0-30w is excellent oil. and worth the cost. I have it in my '97 toyota truck, and it runs better and more MPG.
