that's not an easy deal to find tho and on top of it, it's not a complete package you had to do things to it..

a second hand sr20 blacktop (the model that came out in the typex 180) goes for around the $2000 mark and that'll even come with a t25g! haha.

the $200 option was something someone like yourself could pull off i wouldn't have the know how to do the things you do with motors =p
$2000?! I just sold the 2 lying around of my backyard for $350ea (one redtop from S13). They were in pretty shit condition though. My brothers good at defacing cars you see...

Anyway, this looks interesting Aus. A guy came into work recently and his Vin and Engine number didn't match it was a hassle to ty and tell Honda that

LOL, welcome to the real world Honda dealers.

When my car went in for it's 10K service they reported that everything was great but I needed a new short block.

Apparently some early castings were porous and a stain develops on the side of the block from coolant leaking through the aluminium.

So they replaced my short block under warranty and did all the RTA things so my new engine number was on record.

Next time I went in for service at a different dealer I was asked why my engine number was different.

$1k for an exidy clutch? lol wtf.

Aus aren't you in direct contact with Rocket?

I imagine, IF you chose to do the new clutch option, it'd be cheper than $1K through Rocket.

FYI ppl, SCA is having a 10% all Exidy clutch kits from the 21/3. But if you know someone, ahem like me , you can get 25% off 24/7

Sorry guys, let's keep this just about the engine rebuild.

ECS, I am in contact with Rocket but was only looking for a clutch rebuild, not a new one. Should get away with it for less than $500.

honda9krpm, don't get sidetracked. Stay on topic. This is Aus2000's thread about his engine build.

Got mine for $200. How much cheaper can it get.
Sorry to hear about the blow Aus! On the up side it will give you a chance to learn your girl a little better. I just wanted to note that you are probably posting your costs in those funny AUS$ as opposed t US$? Is this correct? Just don't want folks to get messed up on costs.

Utah

P.S. Good luck with your endeavor!!!!
