Default Engine skipping under load.

Hello. I have a year 2000 (100% stock) and I just started having this problem with the car. The engine will skip under moderate-to-heavy acceleration, but it runs fine at idle and when revving in neutral. There is not a check engine light. After a bit of investigation, I think it might be the MAP sensor. I also think that there is an engine clicking (at least at idle, cold and warm) that was not there previous, which makes me worried that it could be a bent valve. I have not checked anything out yet, but I plan on it this afternoon.

EDIT: It might be important to note that I didn't shift in time 2(ish) days ago, and hit the rev limiter. I have read that over revving can cause valves to bend? How common is this? I have not misshifted.

Some questions I have:
- Would a bent valve cause the engine skipping while under load and not when revving out of gear?
- What tests should I perform first?

Thanks for your help in advance.

clicking/ticking-search under TCT-timing chain tensioner.
The skip may be the MAP, search MAP whack and zip tie that thing

Hitting the rev limiter won't cause you any issues, as you can over rev that way, you can only do it mechanically via a mis-shift.

Problem Solved! I took the map sensor off, wiped off the rubber seal, and then put it back on (nice and snug). I also zip tied the electrical connector to the MAP sensor. While I was doing that, I noticed that the throttle cable was very loose, so I tightened that up (Not "tight", but "taught". I heard it should have about a 4mm sway from sided to side.) One of those 3 things fixed it. I didn't even "whack" the MAP, so I don't think that was it. It was probably the throttle cable, since it was quite loose, but I don't understand how a loose throttle cable would cause the engine to skip when under load. If it was for some reason the MAP, I read that this problem could return soon, so if it does, I'll post back. I haven't checked out the TCT yet, but I will soon. The main problem is fixed anyway, shes running smooth again.

Thanks for your help. I was worried it could have been something serious for a bit there.
